Learn how to make a 9" Cherry Pie candle by following these step-by-step instructions:

Setting Up

For this project, you will need:

  • Çâ·á

  • Á©¿Î½º & ÆĶóÇɿνº

  • ¿°·á(Red)

¡¡

You will not believe how realistic this candle is, once you get it done. You will have to watch out that someone doesn't try to put a knife through it, to cut themselves a slice of it!

First, secure your wicks in each of the wick holes in your bottom pie crust and place crust in your pie tin.

.

Next, heat your gel and when it is melted, add your candle dye (one drop at a time, until you get desired color - I prefer mine very bright red) and add 1/2 ounce of fragrance per pound of gel wax. Mix everything up really well.

Now that everything has been mixed, pour gel into pie crust.

Once the gel has cooled, start placing your cherries on top, about a half to full inch from the edge of the crust. I like to do two layers. The first layer, I place all the cherries side by side.

The second layer, I place the cherries over gel gaps in the first layer. Layering will also add more texture and height to your finished product.

¡¡

Now that you have all of your cherries in place, pour more of your gel over the cherries . Be sure to pour slowly, covering each cherry. Let cool.

Now it is time to whip your wax up. See my Whipped Wax Instructions if you do not already know how to do this.

Once your wax is whipped, scoop/pour it into your re-usable pastry bag and squeeze your whipped dollops one by one around the edge of the pie, in between the cherries and the crust.

Take your time, and don't worry if you mess up. If you do mess up, let the messed up whipped wax dollop cool completely, then take the flat edge of a knife and slide it under the dollop and it'll pop up pretty clean. Then, just start over.

Trim your wicks and you are done! See? That wasn't so bad, eh? And it looks pretty darn realistic, too!
